UPDATES ON ACCREDITATION The Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines ( FAAP ) has granted Level 1 Accredited Status to Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges for having satisfactorily met the standards and fulfilled all the requirements of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation ( PACUCOA ). The said certification is valid until Ocotber 2012. With three ( 3 ) programs on LEVEL 1 STATUS- Business Education/ Commerce, Criminology and Liberal Arts and two( 2) CANDIDATE STATUS programs ( Elementary Education and Secondary Education ), RMMC is set to accredit other programs. Sincere to its quest for quality education, the institution has just undergone CONSULTANCY VISIT for its seven ( 7 ) programs last July 28-29, 2010. These programs are the following: Accountancy, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, High School, Information technology, Master of Arts in Education and Office Administration. Dr.Jaime Buzar, the Vice Chairman of PACUCOA headed the team of the said CONSULTANCY VISIT with Dr. Flordeliza B. Catan Villaseñor , a faculty member of the College of Engineering- Environmental Sanitary Enginering of Mapua Institute of Technology, Manila and Dr. Adelaida B. Almeida- the Dean of the school of Education of the Philippine Women’s University. The CONSULTANCY VISIT is the firs step in the process of accreditation before the conduct of Self Survey and the Preliminary Survey visit. The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) is a private accrediting agency which gives formal recognition to an educational institution by attesting that its academic program maintains excellent standards in its educational operations, in the context of its aims and objectives. 1. To identify schools whose competence and performance in a particular field warrant public and professional recognition. 2. To guide students in the choice of quality schools, colleges and universities that will meet their individual needs. 3. To help institutions of learning achieve maximum educational effectiveness through self-evaluation and self-discipline. 4. To enlist the cooperation of institutions of learning and professional associations in the mission of advancing the interest of education. PACUCOA is an affiliate member of the FAAP - Federation of Accrediting Agencies in the Philippines. It became a full member of the INQAAHE - International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education in 2004 and in 2009, the Societe Generale de Surveillance ( SGS ) and The United Kingdom Accreditation Service ( UKAS ) awards PACUCOA certification for ISO 9001-2008 version.
